Immerse yourself in an unforgettable adventure in Costa Rica, where you’ll combine environmental conservation with cultural exploration. This program is designed to engage you in hands-on activities aimed at protecting endangered sea turtles, while also allowing you to experience the vibrant Costa Rican culture. Join the community effort to conserve sea turtle populations through beach clean-ups, reforestation projects, and night-time turtle monitoring. Beyond conservation, you’ll interact with local communities, learn traditional cooking, explore beautiful landscapes, and partake in cultural exchanges. This educational journey will not only enhances your understanding of environmental stewardship but also enriches your appreciation for Costa Rica’s natural beauty and cultural diversity.
Arrive at San Jose Airport (SJO) or Liberia Airport (LIR). Your Tour Director will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy a welcome dinner and an introduction to local culture, along with a preview of the adventure ahead. Bienvenidos!
Overnight: San Jose
Wake up early for a traditional Costa Rican breakfast and get on the bus! Enjoy a scenic road trip through the tropical dry forest of Costa Rica. Stop for lunch along the way and relax as you continue the journey. Upon arrival at the hotel, settle in and get acquainted with your new home for the trip. After dinner, meet your tour director and participate in activities and board games.
Overnight: Corozalito
Dive into learning about sea turtles and help out with ongoing conservation efforts. Groups could work on beach cleaning or reforestation projects, directly contributing to sea turtle preservation. In the evenings, join local volunteers for night walks to monitor turtles and count eggs, helping ensure their survival. If you’re lucky, you may witness sea turtles nesting!
Overnight: Corozalito
Take a break from community service and embark on a dolphin-watching tour in the morning. Reflect on the importance of wildlife conservation as you hopefully spot dolphins swimming. After lunch at a local restaurant, head to a small community for an art class led by local women known as “Las Papaturras.” Learn about their name and culture while creating your art. After dinner, get ready for another night walk to look for nesting sea turtles.
Overnight: Corozalito
Engage in a cultural exchange with local students by preparing activities to facilitate with them in the afternoon. This experience focuses on mutual learning rather than teaching. Your tour director will help you prepare, but the goal is to communicate with local kids with minimal intervention. In the evening, enjoy a variety of group games and activities.

After breakfast, visit an open-air butterfly garden where you’ll learn about butterflies and their role in the ecosystem. You’ll also see tiny stingless bees and have the opportunity to purchase honey. In the afternoon, visit a macaw recovery center dedicated to protecting and regenerating the populations of green and red macaws through reforestation efforts.
Overnight: Corozalito
Experience the thrill of zip-lining through the rainforest canopy in the morning. After lunch at a local restaurant, spend time in a charming beach town, shopping for souvenirs or relaxing on the beach. If the weather permits, stop to take pictures of the Pacific Ocean sunset on your way back to the cabins.

After a late breakfast, take some time to pack or enjoy the pool. Reflect on your week as you travel back to San Jose or Liberia. Keep an eye out for wildlife during the journey. Once at the hotel, enjoy a farewell dinner and a closing activity with your group.
