This eight-day adventure in France combines structured French conversation sessions with guided tours of historical sites, iconic landmarks, and cultural hotspots. Students will engage with the language and culture through interactive activities, such as cooking classes and theater outings, while exploring the rich history of Paris, Verdun, and Normandy. This program not only enhances language proficiency but also deepens students’ appreciation of French heritage, making it an unforgettable educational journey.
Arrive in Paris after an overnight flight and meet your GEC tour director. A private bus will transfer the group to a hotel in the center of Paris. After checking in, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Paris’s iconic landmarks by private bus. Stop at the Eiffel Tower and visit its second floor, providing a stunning view of the city. After sightseeing, enjoy dinner at the hotel and then a good night’s rest after your first day in Paris.
Overnight: Paris
After breakfast at your hotel, the morning will be spent exploring the world-renowned Louvre Museum with a guided tour. In the afternoon, walk around Île de la Cité, visiting Notre-Dame Cathedral and the archaeological crypt nearby. The crypt offers a fascinating journey through the historical layers of Paris, from Roman times to the 20th century. The day will end with a guided visit to the Sainte-Chapelle, a Gothic masterpiece. In the evening, the group will enjoy a scenic Seine cruise.
Overnight: Paris
In the morning, the group will split into two smaller groups for different activities, switching afterwards so both groups complete both activities. The first activity is French conversation with locals, talking about the play you will see that evening. The other activity is a pastry cooking lesson! In the afternoon, the entire group will take a guided walking tour of Montmartre, visiting the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. The evening will feature a theater outing, followed by dinner and some time to explore Paris at night.

Today will follow a similar pattern as yesterday, where the first group will have a conversation in French preparing for the museum visit in the afternoon, and the other group will have free time to explore. Groups will switch as they did yesterday. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided visit to the Musée d’Orsay, highlighting Impressionist art. The evening will be spent dining at a trendy Parisian restaurant, with a night back at the hotel.
Overnight: Paris
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart for Verdun by private bus, starting a two-day exploration of World War I sites. The itinerary includes visits to the underground galleries of Verdun Citadel with augmented reality glasses, Verdun battlefields, memorials, and the Ossuary of Douaumont. You will also visit Fort de Vaux or Douaumont and the Argonne battlefields, including the “butte de Vauquois” and the American cemetery at Romagne-sous-Montfaucon. Check into your hotel in Verdun and enjoy dinner. Overnight: Verdun
Today will be another full day of exploring Verdun, visiting significant World War I sites and diving deeper into the history and remnants of the battlefields. At the end of the day, return to Paris for dinner and check back into your hotel.
Overnight: Paris
Hit the road again as you head toward Caen in Normandy, focusing on World War II history. You will take a guided visit to the Memorial Museum of Caen, followed by a tour of Omaha Beach, Colleville Cemetery, the battery of Longues-sur-Mer, and Arromanches’ 360-degree cinema. By late afternoon, the group will return to Paris, settling into a hotel near the airport for a final group dinner and closing activity.
