Itinerary

Arrive in Germany at Frankfurt airport, where you will meet your local GEC tour director. From there, depart by coach to Bavaria in southern Germany, stopping along the way to visit Ludwigsburg Palace near Stuttgart. Continue your journey to Munich and check in to your hotel for a three-night stay. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at Hofbräuhaus, a traditional Bavarian beer hall known for its lively music and hearty food.

After breakfast, embark on a full day of exploring the capital of Bavaria, Munich. Visit Marienplatz, the heart of the city, where you can watch the famous Glockenspiel performance at the New Town Hall. After lunch (payable locally), continue your city tour by visiting Viktualienmarkt, Munich’s famous food market, where you can taste Bavarian delicacies like pretzels, cheese, and sausages. Return to your hotel by coach in the evening.

After breakfast, meet your tour guide and depart by coach to the town of Füssen in southern Bavaria. Check out of your hotel after breakfast and transfer by coach to the main railway station in Munich. Board a train to Nuremberg, where you will meet your local guide for a tour of the city, starting with a visit to the Documentation Center and Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Gain insights into the rise of the Nazi Party and the massive rallies held here. After lunch, payable locally, visit the Nuremberg Trials Memorial at the Palace of Justice, where you will learn about the historical significance of these trials in prosecuting war criminals after WWII. In the late afternoon, wander through Nuremberg’s charming Old Town, exploring quaint market squares, half-timbered houses, and historic bridges.

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer by coach to Nuremberg railway station for the high-speed train to Berlin. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and depart by coach for a tour of Germany’s capital city. After lunch, payable locally, visit the Jewish Museum to learn about the life and culture of Jews in Germany through its interactive exhibits. Reflect on the atrocities of the Holocaust at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. In the late afternoon, stroll along Unter den Linden and pass through the historic Brandenburg Gate before driving along Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s famous shopping street, to visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.

Today is dedicated to discovering the recent history of Berlin. Start with a visit to the Berlin Wall Memorial to learn about the Cold War and the division of Berlin. After lunch (payable locally), visit the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, where you will dive into the history of the Berlin Wall and explore exhibits detailing escape attempts and the stark differences between East and West Berlin.
